You may have heard of the Piqua Shawnee tribe that was there in the older days America and you desire to get about their culture. This study will strive to educate you on the ancient Shawnee that significant in the formation of the history of the American Indian.

Despite of the fact that they originated in Tennessee region existing next to Cumberland River they migrated to other parts of the America stretching both to the northeast and southeast parts of America due to their semi-nomadic life. Their semi-nomadic culture made them to practice the lifestyle that were comfortably upheld by the climate and the natural resources that existed in the areas that they moved to. However there were certain practices that they maintain despite the places that they moved to, such as their socio-political practices that defined the way they were ruled by their prominent leaders. As they were travelling to the far northeast and southeast of America they met the native Indians and started learning the way of life of the native Indian before the start of the American civil war which made the Shawnee to mingle with the Cherokee nation where they called Shawnee Cherokee.

The places that were inhabited by Shawnee are impermanent shelters which were prevalent with the native Indian tribes which were made from wood and figs; the shelters were known as Wigwams or wetus that were cone-shaped having arched roofs made of wooden frames covered by woven mats and sheets. The shelters were considered major investments for the Shawnee given that they were made out of the buffalo skins that were treasured much in their culture.

The food that was adopted by these people was relying on that they found available in the areas they lived. The ones that resided on the Great Plains had a diet that was controlled by buffalo meat as well as other wild animals in the plain whereas those who inhabited the woodland predominantly depended on fish and other small game animals like the squirrels and maize and beans that existed in small amount in the region.

Concerning the issues of production as well as security purposes they majored on bows and arrows as their main weapon but in some cases they also used spears, club, hatch axes and knives. The sign of authority that was only on the leader was a special spear that represented authority and leadership role

The cloths of the Shawnee were worn depending on the climate of the region they inhabited; in warm climates they wore breechcloths and shirts and leggings on cold climates. They also adopted the cloths that were worn by the white settlers in there amidst.
